Getting the Word Out - Immersion 2015

This is the photo I shared with a group. I properly introduced myself and I shared some information regarding the Immersion 2015.

Class 7, Assignment 1: Second Life

This is a screenshot of Bushido Virtual World. Very foreign landscape, but I thoroughly enjoyed exploring.

Again, a bushido virtual world, and I found a house!

This was a virtual world called Easter showdown. I was able to ask how to collaborate in Second Life.
I sent the message, but no response....

This is Dragon Gate virtual world.

Again Dragon Gate.

This was a very foreign landscape. Computer took long time to adjust to this landscape.

This was La Terre Virtual Reality.

This is prehistoric virtual reality. I had very fun time exploring the landscape.

Pre- historic Virtual Reality and I asked a person how to collaborate again.

Final Project Step 2: My Completed Immersive Learning Space Part 1 Part 2

Part 1
This is me in the process of building my model.

Part 2

This is a 3-D diamond structure I created with a diamond block. It gives great view of my world for the students in this Immersive Space.

You can't see well in the dark, but I created a 3-D image of aquatic tree. It is made out of glass and leaves. It is a symbolic tree that represents my aquatic world.
This is a 3D image of my aquarium. I used glass blocks to create a 3-D maze like structure. The students will be able to enter and interact with the animals and look at the wonder of acquatic life without harm.

This is a 3-D stairs I created to reach the top of a structure maid out of diamond. This structure provides beautiful view of my world, and the students will be able to experience aquatic life and sky view.

This is an inside of a aquatic chamber I created.

Again, this is the inside of my aquatic chamber.

This is top of a wall of aquatic chamber.

Again, a top of view of aquatic chamber.

This is a bird-eye view of my structure right before sun-down. We can see the grandeur of this structure with this kind of view.

This is not a bird-eye, but I had some elevation while taking this photo.

This is a view of the aquatic chamber during the night.

This is the inside of aquatic chamber during the night.

LAM. TWG refers to Libraries and Museums Technology Working Group, which develops library and museum services to enhance virtual reality experience of libraries and museums. For a long time, library was an incubator for intellectual discovery and research. This enterprise has been important to us for a while and preserved its format for a long period of time. Now, we are seeing inefficiency in existing format, since new technology is constantly developed and applied.

Now, many believe that the virtual reality can solve this inefficiency in traditional library and museum. Installing new and updated information in the traditional library is a challenge. With virtual reality, librarians can connect with the recent information and easily contact others to request updated information.

This transition from traditional library to the virtual reality requires many steps to be accomplished. First, the virtual reality platform has to have a server that is user-centric. Second, the content provided has to be up-to-date and have best resolution. The virtual reality library also has to have funding. Lastly, there has to be enough users to create a community.

Class 7, Assignment 2: Twitter Group Message

Twitter Group Message was definitely an useful tool for collaborative purposes. However, the web already contains many platforms that allow Group Chat, so I'm uncertain whether this is the best chatting application out there. In fact, there was a limit as to how many characters we can send each time. I know for a fact that Facebook Message allows unlimited amount of text to be sent. Thus, I do not think Twitter Group message is an efficient way to communicate with the team members. However, I did get my point across through this chat.

Above, I sent few texts to introduce myself. Then, I started discussing about the Immersion 2015 assignment. I asked my team mates if they got any response from the person they contacted. I also sent an sample email I sent to share with the group.

Class 7, Minecraft: Interface Fundamentals

I watched the tutorials and also explored the actual game. I'm thoroughly enjoying the game. It gives autonomy to the users and I get to explore the new surroundings as I travel. This is the first time playing the minecraft, and it is a new experience.

Class 7, Pinging My Favorite Sites

Class 6, Assignment 3

These screenshots collectively show my process in finding the contacts for iED conference. I had trouble just googling for people who are working in the industry. Finding people's contact just by googling became more difficult due to privacy issue. Thus, I used Linkedin and other social media platforms to find these names. I couldn't get exact details like address and phone number, but I was able to reach their name, email, and photos without any trouble.

Moreover, Linkedin has a feature that allows users to send short messages to other profiles. This is directly synced with their emails. This is a great way to start conversation with anybody, who has a profile in Linkedin. By creating this contact list, I now understand that this list will help me network with people outside my circle.
