Class 12: Google Drive Folders

This is the process of adding people who can view my Google Drive. I try to add all the classmates to see my folder. It had images related to Immersion 2015 and my reports that were relevant to the topics covered in Immersion 2015.

I couldn't find a way to share the folder through the desktop. Thus, I logged in to Google Drive through an internet to share the files.

This is the process of uploading all the files relevant to the Immersion 2015.

Class 12: What is Google Drive?

Google Drive is a very useful application made in Google. It is a cloud service that provides a storage space that one can access anywhere. You can view the Google Drive through an internet or download the drive into your computer. Currently, we have seen a huge growth in the cloud service and google is one of the big players in the game, considering the popularity of Google Services.

I personally downloaded the Google Drive to my laptop, and I’m thoroughly enjoying my experience with the Google Drive. Once it is downloaded in the desktop, the Drive updates the information once it is connected to the internet. There is no need for USBs once I have connection to the internet all the time.

Moreover, Google Drive is conveniently synced with Google doc, sheet, and many more. This ecosystem of Google Technology makes the Drive much more attractive platform. In fact, I have been using Google office applications more than the Microsoft Office. The special function to use office applications through the internet has become a very addictive feature. I’ve also experienced growth of users of Google Office applications.

The Google Drive will experience growth all around as time passes. But, there will be other cloud services that will challenge Google Drive. The problem is how to maintain its dominance in the Cloud Service Market.

Final Project: My First Old Boston Building

All these screenshots show the process I went through to build King's Chapel. It was difficult to incorporate the specific color and texture of the chapel. However, I tried to make a best representation by using the cobble stone and other materials. Again, because I didn't take care of the level terrain, I spent a lot of time making a flat terrain. Moreover, getting it to scale was very difficult also. Now that I have used the World Paint and built a building, I have firm grasp of what I'm supposed to do.

Final Project: My 4 Hours with World Painter

I thought manipulating World Painter wouldn't be a challenge. However, as I was exploring the application, I found this process very difficult. First, I only roughly imagined things I had to do to create a map. However, there were meticulous map making that I had to think about. For example, the level of terrain and level of water were things that I didn't consider. Moreover, the brush allowed me to make precise adjustments, but it was very hard to do it in laptop touch-pad. If I had a mouse, this process would have been whole lot better. For the map, I consulted all the maps our class mates posted in the google doc. It was a great reference to get an overall shape of historic Boston. Also, I used the maps to get a rough outline of the roads.
